"Standard" Cut-Corner 22x16" Vintage Washbasin / Sink White (circa 1955)

Genuine 1950s vintage cut-corner washbasin manufactured in England by "Standard" circa 1955, used but refurbished to almost as-new condition (see note* below). This bathroom basin/sink is a very high quality glazed vitreous china item, incorporating a chrome-plated brass ornate overflow grill and inset ridged soap recesses at either side behind the tap mountings.

This 1950s basin was designed for wall-mounting on cast brackets or on a pedestal, both of which we can also supply - see other items or contact us for details, and is available with or without the original "Supatap" fittings shown. We charge the same price for this basin with or without the taps attached - removing the taps is a potentially risky procedure for which we have the necessary tools and expertise, and the labour costs involved more or less balance out the value of the taps.
Note*: These basins are over 60 years old, and have most likely been in use for the majority of that time. Therefore although in extremely good condition overall with no cracks or chips there will be minor marks or abrasions on the surface of the glaze, and the brassware will have areas of damaged or missing chrome. There is also no guarantee that the taps will function properly, but as mentioned above the basin can be supplied without the tap fittings if preferred ready for adding a conventional pair of basin pillar taps. We do supply the basin with its original waste fitting still attached - these can be very difficult to remove so we recommend retaining the original waste to avoid damaging the basin.
